Integrated Media Buyer/Planner

Do you know how to budget, forecast, scale and optimize monthly, quarterly, yearly and seasonal campaigns? Do you love diving into data and transforming them into actionable recommendations and solutions? Are you proven to effectively create clear and concise insights and turn them into a well developed thoughtful presentation? Have you dealt with both small and multi-million dollar budgets? Join Hawke Media’s rapidly growing paid media team and lead the media planning of campaigns across the company. We’re looking for someone with who constantly drives for innovation and differentiation strategically and tactically. Who has stellar communication skills both internally and externally. Someone who loves to truly understand all the digital and traditional media channels, platforms and technologies. Someone that can develop POV’s and be a strong resource of knowledge and guidance. And importantly, someone that strives to understand consumer/human behavior and their client’s business.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop and execute strategic and tactical media plans and recommendations across digital, traditional and emerging platforms and technologies.
  • Collaborate and integrate with the Paid Search, Paid Social, Strategy, Creative, Email and Business Development teams.
  • Create and execute media RFP process and negotiate with platforms, partners and publishers.
  • Coordinate and maintain IO’s and contracts internally and externally.
  • Determine budget, flighting and channel allocations based on strategies and performance.
  • Set up ad tracking, establish creative/assets requirements and implement Q/A process.
  • Ensure all ad placements and executions are properly launched and flighted.
  • Build campaign reports and ensure integration of performance data from all channels.
  • Manage the day to day relationship and communication with the various platforms, partners, and publishers on each media plan.
  • Coordinate with Accounting on monthly reconciliation and billing.
  • Present monthly reporting and insights to clients.
  • Participate in regular client calls and meetings.
  • Create and present QBR’s, wrap up reports, seasonal and yearly plans.
  • Stays up to date with industry news, trends and innovations.

Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years of media planning in an agency setting with both digital and traditional channels
  • Expertise of the consumer journey, e-commerce, direct response as well as brand building and awareness.
  • Deep knowledge marketing metrics such as ROI, ROAS, CPA, CPM etc
  • Strong knowledge of market, consumer and competitive research techniques and tools.
  • Experience with Comscore, Nielsen, Kantar, Strata, Advantage, Google Trends, eMarketer, Keyword Tool etc
  • Strong RFP, media briefing and negotiation skills.
  • Deep holistic knowledge of all digital media channels, platforms, technologies and innovations.
  • Experienced planning in SEM, SEO, Paid Social Media, Programmatic, Publisher Direct, Mobile, Video, Streaming Radio, CTV/OTT, VOD and traditional (TV, Print, OOH and Radio)
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Superior time management skills, including the ability to handle multiple direct reports, projects and ongoing operational tasks, while effectively managing changing internal and client-facing priorities. 
  • Innovative, forward-thinking and collaborative team player. 
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent (Marketing, Business, Economics, or related field a plus). 
  • Highly experienced with audience segmentation, messaging, flighting and budgeting.
  • Positive, "can-do" and "will-do" attitude at all times, no days off. 
  • Approaches all challenges as new learning and growth opportunities, with a solution-oriented mindset. 
  • Constantly challenges the status quo to find novel solutions to campaign planning execution, reporting and internal processes. 
  • Makes novel and innovative contributions to refine and improve channel on-boarding & launch processes based on new platform and media/market trends, executions, ideologies, etc. 
  • Fosters a positive work environment and turns negative vibes into positive vibes.
  • Experienced in creating and executing tests and learn opportunities.
  • Identifies new learning and development events and opportunities for our Media Buying team (continuing education, skill building, and team bonding).
  • Embraces and respects new ideas, opinions, and ideologies, and encourages collaboration. 
  • Understands the need to be agile and make quick but informed decisions.
  • Advanced knowledge of Google Analytics.
  • Excellent presentation building, writing and client communication skills.
