Associate General Counsel - Part Time

This role will support the general legal needs of the business from the executive team and the board to day-to-day operations across the organization. The Associate General Counsel, reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, will manage Appetize’s entire transactional and commercial domain. This includes drafting and negotiating a wide variety of agreements, maintaining our forms, assisting with our terms of service, and maintaining strong relationships and processes with the internal stakeholders. You will also advise clients on the various legal risks, business strategies and other issues related to commercial transactions and general operations. We’re looking for a diligent and strategic thinker who will be able to learn the nuances of our business, tackle drafting challenges while keeping in mind the objectives of the greater business.

Part Time role. Expect 20-30 hours of work per week.
* In this role you will:* 
* Draft, negotiate, and review a multitude of different types of agreements (including sales, software license, non-disclosure, partner and vendor agreements)
* Provide practical and strategic legal advice on a wide variety of legal matters
* Work with teams across the company to negotiate contracts of all sizes
* Provide legal support to the Appetize Sales and Marketing teams concerning contractual obligations, intellectual property rights, and privacy rules and regulations
* Provide ongoing legal training to the Appetize Sales team on contractual, privacy, and compliance issues
* Partner with Sales and other internal stakeholders throughout the customer lifecycle to ensure customer success and protection of Appetize

*Provide legal support to Appetize HR for employee relations and employment law

* Collaborate with many teams across the company to help achieve company-wide goals
* Department in solving complex legal issues and advising on other general corporate matters as may be necessary

* Evaluate risk of business terms being put in place and negotiated with customers and partners to help manage Appetize’s risk profile
*We are looking for:* 
* Law degree from a top tier program
* Currently eligible to practice in California
* 7-10+ years experience at a law firm and or corporate law department, with law firm, practice group, or in-house management experience
* Experience working in a high tech industry preferred
* Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple projects effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
* Superior written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to build and maintain strong relationships
