Wheelhouse Group is looking for a Sr. Data Scientist /Analyst who is different. Not content to just run models and generate insights (even though you're GREAT at it), you're looking to take the next step in your career. You've got the knowledge and experience and are ready to lead the creation of a Business Intelligence and Data Science department from scratch.
In the role of Sr. Data Scientist / Analyst, you will develop our data architecture and build a unique set of comprehensive data science and analytics capabilities integrating third-party services and APIs. As Wheelhouse and its data needs grow, you will be responsible for building and leading a team that will combine a variety of data sets to develop proprietary, user-friendly dashboards and provide deep insights.
Reporting to the EVP, Digital, you will work directly with leadership and team members at every level to inform decision-making across the entire organization, in all areas of the business including brand partnerships, social growth, content development, performance marketing, and investment strategy. The ideal candidate is a team player and loves breaking down problems, building elegant solutions, delivering actionable data insights, and working in an ever-changing environment.
·Dive in with the Digital, Entertainment, Marketing, and Business Development teams to understand the needs of each
·Work cross-functionally with key stakeholders to create internal processes that enable data-based decision-making across the company
·Manage the development of Wheelhouse's data architecture, including a data warehouse
·Source, analyze, and select best-in-class third-party solutions to develop a comprehensive suite of analytics and intelligence tools
·Lead the development of owned-and-operated data visualization and insights dashboards and tools combining proprietary and third-party data sets to track campaign effectiveness and efficiency and guide decision-making across the organization
·Develop new approaches to understand our buyers, clients, and partners and optimize complex business problems such as content packaging, brand partnerships, and customer acquisition
·Leverage internal and external data sources and work with Wheelhouse Labs marketers to formulate ad campaign strategies, measure impact using holdout/control tests, and analyze results to continually optimize.
·Build, maintain and evolve customer level marketing attribution models to quantify the effect of marketing communications on customer affinity, behavior, sales and profitability across paid, owned and earned channels (e. g., social media platforms, TV, radio, out of home, paid search, display, online video, direct mail, etc.)
·Hire and manage a team to serve the needs of a fast-growth, data-informed organization
·Bachelors or higher degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field
·Previous experience in media, e-commerce and/or mobile games
·Strong problem solving skills with experience in product development and/or marketing
·Experience querying databases and using statistical computer languages (R, Python, SLQ, etc.) to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets
·Experience working with (and, ideally, creating) data architectures
·Experience analyzing data from 3rd party provider APIs: Google, Facebook, Twitter, social intelligence (e.g. Synthesio, Crimson Hexagon), social analytics (e.g. Tubular Labs, CreatorIQ), etc.
·Experience visualizing/presenting data for stakeholders
·Experience with strategic thinking, turning high-level requirements to KPIs or data-driven framework to influence business decision-making
·Excellent written and verbal communication skills for coordinating across teams
·Ability to translate complex statistical ideas into simple, applicable insights
· A drive to learn and master new technologies and techniques
·Passion for entertainment content of all kinds
