Edmunds is looking for a skilled and enthusiastic Manager of Analytics who has a deep understanding of digital advertising and is experienced in drawing actionable insights from large sets of data and communicating a thoughtful narrative of results at the executive level. 

The ideal candidate would also have a proven track record of breaking the mold, making changes to existing processes & reporting, and innovating in order to propel the team to the next level of analytic insights. 

This individual will be tasked to work cross-functionally with Product, Sales and Operations teams to optimize digital advertising products through A/B testing and experimentation, measuring and uncovering results based on changes to website traffic & consumer site behaviors. 

The Manager of Analytics will play a crucial role in the development, improvement and maintenance of digital advertising revenue forecasts & models, monitoring major KPIs and understanding impact on other areas of the business. This person will be expected to understand every detail and complexity of the company’s digital advertising revenue to ensure that the executive team has a clear and accurate pulse of the business, and recommend action plans to optimize against the company’s revenue goals. 

In addition, this person will be expected to promote the use of self-service analytic tools across internal clients, and provide training for these tools.

What You’ll Do:

  • Develop, evaluate and refine analytic models to identify areas of optimization and growth

  • Design, conduct and lead complex analyses that mine, extract, track, report and analyze performance metrics & summarize your findings in a meaningful way

  • Produce forecasts, reports, ad hoc requests, dashboards, etc. utilizing our data warehouse and other data sources

  • Prepare visualizations of data in order to explain and persuade

  • Provide recommendations to key stakeholders 

  • Manage priorities for the team 

  • Create processes and procedures for the team to streamline projects and identify gaps to remove inefficiencies

  • Reinforce documentation of methodologies and work flows 

  • Mentor less experienced members of the team 

What You Need:

  • Strong analytical and data mining skills

  • SQL and Excel are required and R and/or Python is plus

  • Proven track record of hands-on experience with large data sets using complex analysis and data modeling

  • Strong data visualization skills and experience with BI tools such as Tableau

  • Excellent presentation and communication skills with the ability to confidently to speak the executive team

  • Strong project management skills, ability to multitask and balance competing priorities

  • Master’s degree in a quantitative field, such as mathematics, statistics, physics, computer science, business analytics, etc. with at least 5 years of related work experience, or a BS in related field with at least 8 years of relevant work experience

Each day I start by building the Edmunds story from the ground up. Using our own unique reporting tools and in collaboration with our product, analytics and marketing team, I can speak to the value of Edmunds. Once this information is complied, I head out to meet with our dealer partners to go over program results, listen, assess their needs.
