Known as the Uber for kids, HopSkipDrive came onto the scene in early 2015 and raised their seed round this past summer. They have seen rapid growth during their first year, delivering tens of thousands of rides and curating over 500 carefully vetted drivers.
“We’ve spent the last year building out our tech and product team and with this announcement, we’ll be adding to that on the operations side by bringing in some real expertise in terms of operations, user-growth and scalability,” said CEO and co-founder Joanna McFarland.
McFarland went on to say that the new capital will be used to help the business grow outside of Los Angeles. The business currently operates in most parts of LA County.
HopSkipDrive has also been very active in the community, offering free rides to the nearly 2,000 Porter Ranch and Castlebay Lane students displaced due to the Aliso Canyon gas leak.
